Maya, Maya, what big urban centers you have!
Ever since a couple of trips to Central America I have had a fascination with all things Mayan. I have recently taken to learning to “read” Mayan heiroglyphs in what spare time I can find (usually this means just before I drift toward Lah-lah Land). Peter Matthew and the late Linda Schele combined to create The Code of Kings: the Language of Seven Sacred Maya Temples and Tombs, 
which is one of the most comprehensive Maya decipher books I have read. Having travelled to many of the sites mentioned, it was a trip down memory lane. Wish I’d had the book with me though — would have saved me a lot of perspiration.
