Matte Painting history

This, folks, is my attempt at a matte painting using some photographic reference and textures and some original painting.

To see a larger version of the painting, click it (click it good). I had, of course, a strong concept in mind as I worked: “Big bridge, dark night, trees, statues watching over some guys roasting hotdogs around a big fire” — you know, the usual.
